Editor's Note
Hey Valley fam 👋
March weekends in the 956 hit a little different. The weather’s finally perfect, markets are popping up everywhere, and there’s always live music somewhere if you know where to look.
This weekend alone brings Strawberry Fest in Edinburg, markets and brunch vibes in McAllen, and a huge spring break concert at South Padre Island— plus plenty of smaller pop-ups and community events across the region.
Quick note: starting next week, 956 Pulse will return to landing in your inbox on Fridays. Since late last year, we’ve been experimenting with sending the newsletter on Thursdays to see if a little extra planning time during the week might help. After giving it a try and looking at when most readers open the newsletter, Fridays seem to be when it’s most helpful.
As always, we appreciate the feedback you share with us — it’s what helps shape this newsletter for the whole Valley.
Grab some friends, support a local vendor, and explore a new spot this weekend. 🌴

Meet Flynn— a 4-year-old Hound mix who’s been patiently waiting 117 days at Palm Valley Animal Society. Flynn is a sweet, social boy who lights up when people approach his kennel, greeting visitors with a wagging tail and a hopeful look for pets and affection. The shelter noise gives him some anxiety, so a calm foster or adoptive home would help him decompress and finally enjoy the relaxed life he deserves.
