Editor's Note

Hey Valley fam,

We’re closing out the month loud — festival lights on, music up, community everywhere — and stepping into a fresh one with that same unstoppable Valley energy. 💥 There’s something about this time of year that feels like momentum building: Charro Days spirit, small businesses popping up at markets, families filling parks, and students making history.

February gave us plenty to cheer for. March? We’re kicking that door open ready. New goals, new events, same hometown pride.

The 956 doesn’t ease into anything — we show up strong and keep it moving. Let’s finish this month proud and start the next one even prouder.

Meet Toot — a 1-year, 1-month-old neutered mixed-breed boy at the Laurie Andrews Center who urgently needs an adopter or long-term foster before March 2nd. After 333 days in the shelter, this shy sweetheart is overwhelmed and keeps his distance when he’s unsure, but in a calm home with patience and consistency, he has the potential to truly blossom.

This Week's Bite - 956 Pulse Newsletter Banner

HamburgeLunas (Mission)

If you know, you know. Tucked away in North Mission, HamburgeLunas is that family-owned spot Valley folks whisper about when they’re craving arealburger. We’re talking stacked, over-the-top creations like the Popper Burger (yes, bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers inside the bun 👀), plus wild cards like the Hot Cheetos Burger and Frito Pie Burger that scream South Texas flavor. Everything’s seasoned right, served hot, and basically demands a side of chili cheese fries.

🕐 Mon–Thu 11AM–9PM | Fri 11AM–10PM | Sat 12PM–10PM (Closed Sun)
📍 10320 Mile 7 Rd Suite 5, Mission, TX 78573
